Team Arc Angels prides itself on maintaining standards that are second to none.
Ranking as the very best Airsoft/Paintball hybrid Military Simulation ("MilSim") Team requires dedication, vision, effort and a significant commitment to self, team and the sport.
Becoming an Arc Angel is not easy. With an emphasis on professional backgrounds that are compatible with MilSim related activities, a multi-stage selection process is strictly adhered to. Applicants are vetted to ensure a high degree of personal integrity and compatibility with the team as a whole; physical fitness standards and field skills are tested and challenged.
300 meter Grind crawl: While their gear being dispersed and hidden, applicants must reach a designated point, crawl back to their designated start position, locate their kit and then proceed to the next phase.
Expectations of conduct for Members on and off the field are high so as to promote a safe, challenging and enjoyable experience as well as fostering sportsmanship and a positive image for all MilSim related activities. Team building activities are wide ranging and in addition to regular field and classroom training sessions, many other challenging outdoor sports are organized.
The accepted standard for fitness testing within the Arc Angels is the US Army Physical Fitness Test ("APFT"). Selected because of its standardized and proven testing regime, the APFT is undertaken by all Arc Angels Members at least three times a year. Regular APFT testing is a team activity and while a personal challenge that requires a commitment to physical fitness, strong encouragement is always available for each member of the team as they strive to achieve a higher standard of fitness and health.
Adjusted for age, the APFT consists of a 2 mile run, push ups and sit ups. Points are awarded based on run time and the number of push up and situp repetitions within a 2 minute time frame. With 100 points possible in each category, a minimum score of 60 is required in each category (180/300 points with all three categories combined) to be "Mission Ready".It is possible to achieve a score of more than 300 points for exceeding the standards set out in Chapter 14 of Army Field Manual 21-20, Physical Fitness Training.
Once Selection candidates hear "Grind Secured" they know they've made it to the team.
Applicants who are unable to achieve a score of 150/300 are ineligible for full team membership. The first Arc Angel APFT challenge of 2010 was held on April 24 - all scoring was cross checked to ensure accuracy.
