CGI but definitely decent CGI.

To be able to stabilize a flying/hovering vehicle enough to fire automatic rounds from it when the thing is light enough to be picked up one handed while carrying 100 rounds love ammo???? Really?

Pretty awesome concept though.

http://teamarcangels.com/forums/?page=post&id=2D319FA9-A9D3-4452-8969-13BCF448F128

http://teamarcangels.com/forums/?page=post&id=2D319FA9-A9D3-4452-8969-13BCF448F128

RE:Check this out!!! – Remote Machine gun Drone!

Ok, so it had to happen sooner or later, and seeing as its me, it was sooner.

I just put in an M125 spring into my M4 and put it all back together, i haven't test fired anything but it seems to be functioning alright.

I do however see a few problems already, the air nozzle that connects the hop-up/barrel to the cylinder head, seems to have a broken piece on it, causing it to not seal very well. (it is plastic)

So i'm assuming I will need a replacement one. Seeing as how much of a pain it it to pull apart the mec box, I figured i might as well go the full monty.

Here's my list of parts which i figure i'll be purchasing in the near future, however, I wanted to consult you, the guys who have already been there.

Deep Fire metal air nozzle for M4 AEG

Systema Silent Piston head & Cylinder head

	Systema Area 1000 Polycarbonate piston

Systema Helical gear set, original ratio

	Deep Fire tappet plate

	Systema Long Type Energy motor

	Systema 4 slot opening cylinder

As far as I can tell I already have metal bushings, so no need to replace those, I already have a M125 spring and a metal spring guide rod, so is there anything I missed? anything I really don't need or can change? Let me know.

Grind em up - ! - the US Navy Special Warfare Command has this adopted about 40 years ago. - Hence making the UDT/BUDS selection course the most grueling process in the US military. The BUDS program combined PT as warm ups while course training were always performed using obstacle courses and simulated strength requirements that could and would be applied during real-world deployment situations. Good-on the Army for the program switch over.

The APFT may be on its way out - we may need to revise and update our own annual fitness qualification.

	From USA today

"The Army is revamping its yearly physical fitness tests for the first time in 30 years by swapping sit-ups and push-ups for exercises that toughen soldiers for battle.

Instead of the 2-mile run and other traditional exercises, for example, soldiers will run an obstacle course in full combat gear and dragging a body's weight.

The head of Army initial training, Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, said today at Fort Jackson, S.C., that the old sit-ups and push-ups don't translate into survival on a battlefield.

The new program will be tested at eight installations and, after a review, could be implemented Armywide.

Jeff Schogol, who writes the blog Stripes Central for the newspaper Stars and Stripes, says he signed up for permission to give the new exercises a try and had to fill out an agreement that reads in part:

Participation in the events related to the new Army Physical and Combat Readiness Test includes, but is not limited to, the risk of death or serious or other injury such as cuts, scrapes and bruises, broken bones, twisted ankles, sprains, pulled or strained muscles, knee and other joint injury, heart attack and stress-related injury resulting from: the risks/hazards of running and physical exertion over a prolonged period, exposure to heat and cold, dehydration, colliding with other runners, falling and tripping, or the conduct of other participants, including their negligence or willful misconduct.

Just came across this article - 17 months old but still interesting.

The full article is here on the US Army Website

"FORT JACKSON, S.C. -- What began as a popular form of civilian entertainment is being tested on Fort Jackson as a possible new way to train Soldiers preparing to head to a combat zone.

The 187th Ordnance Battalion is operating a pilot program designed to test the feasibility of using Airsoft weapons to train Soldiers to cope with real-world combat situations such as forward operating base operations and force protection.

Airsoft weapons are replicas of their military counterparts, but fire plastic pellets instead of bullets. Airsoft is widely used by civilians who enjoy organizing military simulations and historical reenactments.

Training cadre with the unit are finding that Airsoft is an ideal way to teach Soldiers valuable lessons about combat.

"It gives them more realistic, outcome-based training," said Sgt. 1st Class Richard Hunt, module chief for the battalion. "Now they know when they get hit during a training exercise."

The battalion has been using Airsoft weapons since the spring at its field training site where soldiers learn basic combat tactics in an urban environment. Like Hunt, all of the cadre at the FTX site are combat veterans. Hunt said the Airsoft weapons give the training another level of sophistication and realism that is hard to attain with other training tools such as the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System, which has been in use for years.

Soldiers at the site practice reflexive fire and other tactical skills while armed with replica M-4s, M-9s and M-249s, the weapons they most likely will use in combat. While practicing tactical movements, such as clearing rooms or exiting a vehicle in an ambush, the Soldiers come under fire from Airsoft weapons. The feedback is instant if a Soldier makes a mistake...."

Well I dont think that this is an issue for a majority of team members because a lot of us are running the stock G&G Pro packages, I think its more a question for the future when the new MAX models start flooding the market (Which believe me I think is awesome, that we can now bring Airsoft Full Black into Canada). Quite Frankly even though using my rifle and maxing out at maybe 350fps with .20's, I still switch to my USP at short ranges, its too easy to make the simple mistake of being on fully auto or any various other mess ups. But we should make sure if and when we do get these Airsoft markers that we conform to local club rules when playing with them.

I would highly recommend for people to look at investing in sidearm as it makes a great backup as well as a great CQB Weapon. Also when you need to get up close and personal theres nothing like using a pistol and a rubber knife, as Reaper and Thumper know all too well ;)

I completely agree with Ceaser, I had/getting new sidearm for CQB because the last thing i want to go is hit a fellow player in the face with 350fps pieces of plastic so if the opportunity arises I will transition to my sidearm or if we are going to start playing CQB guns then I will buy something that runs at a lowers velocity like Angels MP5.

When we first switched to Airsoft there was an incident with a fellow airsoft team where somebody was shot in the face on full auto and he got a bb lodged in his nose and several stitches later its better but still. The new Max models are going to bring a a new level of distance we will be able to achieve but we will also be getting first timers buys guns and having no "firearm" safety concept
In regards to pain, let's be honest yes it does suck when it hurts but it's part of the game. The pain is not unbearable even at close range (unless you got sprayed) and it's what let's you know you made a mistake. Beasides when we play among our team we rarely run full auto in which case this issue is almost non-existant.

http://teamarcangels.com/forums/?page=post&id=5B19BF95-3ABE-49C1-9C5B-5F1EEA636AA2

http://teamarcangels.com/forums/?page=post&id=5B19BF95-3ABE-49C1-9C5B-5F1EEA636AA2

RE:Velocity Poll: Should we be playing with "Hot" (425+ fps) markers

I agree with Gearbox. It all depends on what your roll is. I am bringing mine up to about 415, but I am counter sniping so I need the extra range. I will have to pick up another for CQB. At least I now have a side arm to help in those situations where a long gun does not work.
I don't know if any of the answers work because there are times when it fantastic to have the extra fps ie increased range but once you get up close and personal it sucks, ask Angel how many time he has had to repair my face. At the same time you look at your roll in the team if you are primarily running long gun either sniper, spotter or scout you are going to want that extra distance and fps but if your roll is more up close and personal then it may not be necessary.

Am I going to bump the fps over the winter? Yes but not 425+ because of the games we do play and the areas we play it is not worth it. If team plans change and we will be doing some out of town games like the once that an Op-for member ran 3 weeks ago then my answer may change

very nice idea Thumper! The IR Flasher is ideal for the price point. Our team physician and I attended a screening of Expendables last night. Wardog was unable to be with us as he was unable to obtain leave.

The Expendables is a richly told story, deep in pathos and cinematically captivating. A significant challenge to Fellini's mod subjective experimentation, this is a tale of deforming jealousy, suspicion, cruelty, madness and contaminated relationships.

	Or...

Talk about stuff blowing up... I mean, lots of stuff, and all of it blowing up real good. And guns, lots of guns spraying infinite amounts of ammunition while an endless supply of knives were thrown with perfect accuracy. Oh yeah, and there were lots of custom bikes, and tattoos, and there were even some hot women. And it was all *so* believable... and not at all formulated!

http://teamarcangels.com/forums/?page=post&id=4C83E5B6-3EC2-441B-9EB9-66E70BDE8CD1

http://teamarcangels.com/forums/?page=post&id=4C83E5B6-3EC2-441B-9EB9-66E70BDE8CD1

RE:Online Airsoft Magazine

So, What happens when you live in the city and you can't just wait to get out to the field when you get your new Aimpoint? Well you improvise of course! Adapt and Overcome. Safely of course, with window blinds drawn. Using the PDF Target Maker that Thumper contributed (thanks for that link!), an old t-shirt and a sturdy computer power supply box I had the perfect target holder. While i didnt get it zeroed in quite right (probably due to dying batteries) the red dot proved pretty effective at 30 feet (yes, I know these are horrible groupings, they were attempts to zero it ;) ).

I've selected the MP5 from G&G as my second primary for CQB and VBSS requirements. This particular model boasts the typical tight bore and upgraded internal mechanics similar to my M4. It's combination of light plastic and metal parts makes it an ideal quick response primary. The standard MP5 front shield has been replaced with a RIS system. It carries a metal dual feed 640s high-cap magazine with secondary 9mm shells in the feeder mag. It also comes with a third metal mid-cap 120s magazine. I am replacing the standard NCStar with an EOTECH 552 and adding a Gemtech mini-suppressor. Also, I've made additional changes such as adding a quick aim - surefire mini-LED flashlight and Black hawk 3 point sling. Otherwise, its ready for use and hopefully will tune properly.

Get your paint out - The US Army has issued official instructions on how to camo up the M4/M16 in the PEO Soldier document "Notes to Soldiers - Weapons Painting 101"

	From the document:

"Presented here are PM Soldier Weapons’ crib notes for those Soldiers who have the green light to dress out their weapons with paint to reduce their visual signature on the battlefield.

Before painting your weapon, it’s important that you keep several things in mind. First and foremost is to ensure that you have proper authorization from your superior to paint the weapon. Second, remember that the weapon needs to be stripped of all paint and properly cleaned before it is returned.

I think not.

Sidearms are often a secondary thought to most people in the Airsoft community, a luxury that is afforded to those who can afford Systema's (expensive m4's) or those nuts who love going Tomb Raider style out on the field. I would have to say that there is a reason that every photo you see of a Special Forces Operator (the few that you can find out on the internet) they are all carrying a sidearm. It is because your life and the outcome of your mission is reliant upon the operation of your equipment and the boyscout motto "Be Prepared" holds true here. By having a secondary platform with which to effectively engage and defeat the enemy you allow yourself the chance no matter how remote that your primary will fail or you will find yourself out of inventory for your primary platform.

I found myself during a recent set of skirmishes between Alpha and Bravo with my primary down with multiple engaged targets, after a quick survey of my primary I switched to my secondary and continued to engage with approximately the same effective range as my Primary allowing me to seek out enhanced cover and still be an asset rather than a liability to my team. This lead to success rather than failure in this scenario.

Furthermore in CQB Situations an platform like the m4 is much longer than even the largest sidearms available, and in these kind of situations for maximum stealth and the ability to effectively engage switching to a sidearm seems like a much more valid option.

Down to brass tax: Sidearms allow you to adapt and overcome any situation that you are presented in which you might loose use of your primary or be put in a situation where a smaller more manuverable platform would be useful for the engagement with which you are presented. That is why i would recommend everyone on the team look into secondaries as a primary investment almost as vital as the rig on your chest, the boots on your feet or the primary strapped to your shoulder.

I was looking at this image which illustrates the diversity of terrain in Afghanistan and one of the clear reasons Multicam is quickly becoming the camo of choice in that Theatre.

I found it interesting to note the particular species of flora and fauna our guys are having to contend with.

Looks like Crye Precision is on a roll. Soon after the announcement of deployment of Multicam for use by US Forces in Afghanistan, now the Brits are rolling it out as "Multi-Terrain Pattern"...
